Rivers Edge Ultra
Date is September 23th, 2017
Registration Opening Soon
We are pleased to announce an amazing new ultra and relay to be held on trails that very few of you will ever been able to run on. The primary staging area will be in Parkland County, west of Devon. And what is awaiting you? Amazing river valley vistas, beaver dams, river crossings, steep inclines and declines, and a natural beauty unobstructed by buildings. And a year-end party!
The course will be a 50 miles total distance and will involve individual legs ranging from 10 km to 20 km. If you plan on challenging the solo course, we recommend bringing extra shoes. Your feet will get wet with the beavers setting up their lodges at the most convenient of places!
To top it off, all proceeds after expenses will go to the Olive Tree Projects. Check out the link to this amazing foundation and to the founder Sarah Wallace Olive Tree Projects
Much of the private land near Edmonton that River’s Edge Ultra will be held on was once owned by the Grandfather of Sarah Wallace who runs Olive Tree Projects in Haiti, the organization that the race is raising money for. There is not a lot of organized running in Haiti but it has some amazing terrain that provides for beautiful and challenging trail running. Recently, in the town of Jacmel, a race called the River Bank 20km was held and next year a stage race from Port au Prince across the mountains to the coast is planned for February.
