Training Regimes

There is a lot of literature out there on this subject and given everyone is different you need to find a plan that works for you.  You are encouraged to assess your physical condition with your physician before beginning any training regime.

As we said, cross-training is great preparation for attemtping any ultra marathon event including ours.  If you would like to get in some great cross-training take a look at an awesome local event called “Rise Up Challenge” which stands for Resistance, Integrity, Strength and Endurance.  It mixes obstacle course racing  and trail running to create a unique experience unlike any other.  The event utilizes obstacles found within nature and the surrounding environment to challenge your physical and mental strengths (and weaknesses).  Race solo or as a team.  You’ll need to dig deep to get through this challenge!

If you are interested in participating in the “Rise Up Challenge” event click here to be directed to their website.  They have a spring version to be held in May and a fall version to be held in October.   The fall version will be held on a portion of the lands upon which we run our ultra events.  They will be an incredible test for all participants!  “Rise Up Challenge”  also supports the great work at Olive Tree Projects.
