RACE DATE: September 21, 2019
NEW FOR 2019:
- 21km solo race that will have you crossing creeks and the river!!!!
- 350 racer limit!!
Come join us for an incredible day of running, scrambling, jumping, crawling, laughing and plain old socializing at our hand carved incredible single track trails in the amazing North Saskatchewan River Valley in Parkland County, just minutes west of the City of Edmonton and the Town of Devon. Amazing river valley vistas, beaver dams, river crossings, steep inclines and declines, all kinds of critters and natural beauty unobstructed by buildings. And a year-end party!
We have structured our “Running Series” in a progressive manner so if you are new to the ultra scene you can start off with the 12km distance or join a relay team to get a taste of what you can expect when participating in a full blown ultra. You can also enter the 21km, 50km, 80km or 100km solo distances. And, don’t forget your kids as we have a 5km fun run for them too! We’d love to have your family and friends join us for the entire day which includes music, bonfires and delicious food and beverages so bring your lawn chairs and come on down!
Each of the 5 race distances (12km, 21km, 50km, 80km and 100km) involve individual legs ranging from 9 km to 20 km that all loop back to the Start/Finish area. You can challenge any of these distances solo or put together a relay team and do the 80km event. There is some serious elevation gain and loss so ensure hill repeats are part of your training as we want you to stay around for the post-race celebrations!
We highly recommend bringing extra socks and shoes along with a warm towel and maybe some hot chicken noodle soup! Your feet and possibly the rest of you will get wet with the beavers setting up their lodges at the most inconvenient places!
We had the honour of hosting the ACU Canadian 50 Mile Trail Championships on our wonderful single track course. Come join us you won’t be disappointed!!!!
To top it off, all net proceeds will go to the Olive Tree Projects. Check out their link: Olive Tree Projects.
